The reality is that they share a piece of the famous 7 mile beach which is in the Bloody Bay of Negril Jamaica. Along the beach you'll find multiple all inclusive resorts as well as several public beaches and restaurants on the seven mile beach. In Negril the beaches are available for all to walk, the resorts may place restrictions on entering the property but your free to roam the beach. Walking seven mile beach is a favorite activity of resort guests and the vendors take advantage of this. Anytime you enter a public stretch of seven mile beach you'll be asked to visit the shops of vendors and you'll likely be offered ganja. If you are not interested just offer a polite but firm no thank you. If you are interested in smoking weed in Jamaica I'd suggest finding it somewhere besides the beach. Undercover cops are everywhere on the beaches there are safer alternatives. In the evening huge beach parties are held where locals and resort guests mingle freely. any red license plate taxi driver can get you safely to these parties and will pick up and take you back to your hotel or resort.
