Parasailing In Jamaica
Parasailing in Jamaica is excellent and anyone would enjoy the experience. I expected a thrill ride but found that parasailing is a great way to see the coasts and island of Jamaica. In most cases you will parasail from the deck of a parasailing boat. Most resorts and hotels in Jamaica do not do parasailing but there are local parasailing boats in all major cities like Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Just hang out on the beach and look for a parasailing boat driving by slowly. Often they will have things like "Sky Ride" written on the side. Wave your hands and the parasailing boat will come by and pick you up. Usually a ride is $60-$80 dollars and is likely negotiable. For your ride you wear a harness that is hooked to a parachute. The parasailing boat starts going and you are slowly cranked out as the wind takes up your parachute. Because this is slow anyone even my mom can parasail. When you reach the end of the rope you are treated to a peaceful ride and you can enjoy excellent views of Jamaica. I recommend bringing an inexpensive camera as the pictures are fantastic. When your parasailing ride is done they simply reel you in slowly and you land on the deck of the parasailing boat. Then you are taken back to your hotel or resort in Jamaica. |
