Rick's Cafe

Negril Jamaica

For anyone visiting or planning to visit Negril, Jamaica, one of the must see destinations on this beautiful Caribbean island is Rick’s Cafe. Situated right on the ocean shore at the western tip of Jamaica atop some spectacular cliffs, Rick’s Cafe is an immensely popular spring break stop and tourist attraction. Rick’s Cafe is famous for several aspects of its dining experience. The glorious sunsets are not to be missed, and perhaps the most spectacular attraction is the cliff diving. Locals show off their skills from the cliffs at regular intervals, from heights of up to 60 feet over the ocean, and tourists are also welcome to give cliff-diving a try.

Even if you aren’t up for diving off a cliff, the fare at Rick’s Cafe is nothing to pass up either. Jerk chicken is served with all the local flair the dish deserves. Most of the dishes on the menu at Rick’s Cafe are of the traditional sandwich-and-burger variety, but dinner brings out hearty steak and seafood platters. For the thirsty tourist, try a cold frosty mug of famous Jamaican Red Stripe beer. The fruit daiquiris at Rick’s Cafe are some of the best around, and the ruby red concoction “Sex with Rick” is not to be missed.

 Ricks Cafe

Rick’s Cafe was decimated in 2004 by Hurricane Ivan, but was rebuilt and reopened in August of 2005, better than ever with a two-story restaurant, a swimming pool, and a new jumping platform for cliff diving entertainment. After the sun goes down, Rick’s Cafe brings out live reggae music every night. The prices are about what you would expect to pay at a popular tourist restaurant, but the atmosphere and entertainment at Rick’s Cafe are well worth the expense.
